Half of the municipalities in Alta Cerdanya already know who their mayor will be for the 2026-2032 term before the elections on March 15, as only one list has been filed.

All candidacies presented in eastern Cerdanya are independent lists. This lack of competition means that twelve local leaders are effectively confirmed before voters even head to the polls this Sunday.
A notable case is Georges Armengol in Sallagosa. Serving as mayor since 1995 and president of the Communauté de Communes Pyrénées Cerdagne, Armengol will have completed 37 consecutive years in office by the end of this term in 2032.
Other municipalities with confirmed leadership include Dorres, Èguet, Er, Estavar, la Guingueta, Llo, Palau de Cerdanya, Porté, Santa Llocaia, Tarragona, Ur, and Vallcebollera.
