Jordi Gassió, who served as mayor of the Cerdanya capital from 2023 to 2025, joined the Latour de Carol pour tous list in Alta Cerdanya. This candidacy, led by Patrice Arro, marks the final public service of a politician with a long regional history. Gassió, a long-time resident of the French border town, requested to be placed last on the electoral list.

A specialized surgeon by profession, Gassió previously managed the Cerdanya Transfrontier Hospital and served as a Director General for the Generalitat de Catalunya. At 66 years old, he is set to retire in the coming weeks, beginning a new personal chapter away from the public eye.
