The former mayor of Puigcerdà, Jordi Gassió, announced this March 2026 his final retirement from political life after running in the municipal elections of Latour-de-Carol.

Jordi Gassió, who served as mayor of the Cerdanya capital from 2023 to 2025, joined the Latour de Carol pour tous list in Alta Cerdanya. This candidacy, led by Patrice Arro, marks the final public service of a politician with a long regional history. Gassió, a long-time resident of the French border town, requested to be placed last on the electoral list.
