During the celebration of the feast of Saint Just, Bishop of Urgell, at the Cathedral of Santa Maria d’Urgell, the changes affecting the diocese were made public. One of the notable developments is the arrival of Father Josep Chisvert as the new rector of the parish of Sant Ot de la Seu d’Urgell. Father Chisvert, currently rector of Sant Julià de Lòria and Os de Civís, is also known for initiating the Canòlich Music festival, which aims to connect contemporary music, education, and spirituality among young people. In addition to Sant Ot, he will oversee numerous parishes in the region.
Other significant changes include the departure of Fr. Josep Maria Mauri Prior as Vicar General, who will continue as Diocesan Delegate for Heritage. His position will be filled by Fr. Antoni Elvira i Gorgorió, who will also serve as Moderator of the Curia. Fr. Elvira will step down from his roles as Episcopal Vicar for pastoral action, Rector of Escaldes-Engordany, and Director of the Diocesan School of Permanent Formation of Urgell.
The list of appointments also includes Fr. Jerrick Banzuela Rodríguez as parochial vicar of Sant Ot and rector of several parishes, Fr. Ignasi Navarri Benet and Fr. Jordi Profitós Freixenet as co-rectors in Balaguer, Fr. David Codina Pérez as the new rector of Escaldes-Engordany, Fr. Pau Bellido Segarra and Fr. In the area of formation, Dr. Francesc Torralba i Roselló will be the new Director of the Diocesan School of Permanent Formation, with Mr. Josep Ràbade i Fernández as Secretary. Furthermore, the new Episcopal Council has been established, comprising the Vicar General and one priest from each of the three circumscriptions of the Presbyteral Council, to enhance pastoral activity.
