The Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition has announced a plan to enhance public road transport in Cerdanya, introducing new routes and a significant increase in investment.

The study aims to improve routes to La Seu d’Urgell and Barcelona, as well as launch six new on-demand transport routes under the Clic.cat brand. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Cerdanya Regional Council and local municipalities, seeks to ensure territorial cohesion and equal opportunities in mountain regions.
The Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, highlighted the importance of sustainable mobility. The department will increase the annual investment allocated to public transport in the region, from approximately 1.1 million euros to over 1.7 million euros.
The improvements will be rolled out progressively, including new strategic services to enhance internal connectivity and access to essential services. For 2026, 304,000 euros will be provided to the Regional Council for mobility in low-demand areas.
Enhancements have been made to the Llívia – Puigcerdà – La Seu d’Urgell line with seven new weekly services (investment of 240,764 euros) and to the Llívia – Barcelona line with a new Friday service and Sunday return (annual investment of 45,000 euros). An additional expansion of 275,000 euros is under consideration.
Furthermore, a new connection between Llívia, Puigcerdà, and Girona is being analyzed to facilitate student travel to the University of Girona (UdG), a demand deemed necessary due to the region's geographical and demographic realities.
The Clic.cat service in Cerdanya will offer six new on-demand routes from Monday to Saturday, connecting less populated areas such as Bellver, Martinet, All, Guils, and La Molina.
These measures are part of policies to improve mobility in rural areas, aligning with the Statute of Rural Municipalities and the Rural Agenda of Catalonia. Recently, the Public Transport Customer Service Centre was launched at the Regional Council's headquarters.
