Eight student-workers specializing in Decorative Painting from the House of Trades within the Treball als Barris project of the Municipal Employment Institute (IMO) in Lleida have been carrying out maintenance and improvement work at the Historic Center Playroom, located on Tallada street, since mid-August.
The intervention includes repainting the walls with a range of neutral and soft colors to promote a warmer, calmer, and more welcoming atmosphere, adapted to children's needs. The playhouse's image has also been renewed, replacing intense colors with more integrated tones, and damaged decorative elements have been removed.
These actions help maintain the facilities in good condition and offer a more pleasant, safe, and functional environment for the children, families, and organizations that use the playroom, an intensively used facility throughout the year.
This initiative allows the House of Trades students to complete their training in a real work environment, while directly improving a municipal facility linked to the neighborhood's community life. The project also has a significant social dimension, as many participants reside in the same area where they undertake their practical training.
During this summer, participants of the Treball als Barris program have also worked on other municipal facilities in the city, including the restoration of the perimeter wall of the Escola Sant Josep de Calassanç and painting work at the EBM del Secà.
