The Cerdanya Regional Archive in Puigcerdà hosted the final session of the Explica'm una història series this Saturday, focusing on the influential figure of Josep de Zulueta i Gomis.

Historian Carles Gascón Chopo delivered the lecture, which examined the life of the founder of Cooperativa Cadí. The event was organized by the Cerdanya Regional Council and the Cerdanya Research Group at the Sebastià Bosom Hall.
The presentation, titled Josep de Zulueta i Gomis. The man who changed the Pyrenees, detailed how Zulueta led a major economic shift in the region. Following the phylloxera plague that destroyed local vineyards, he promoted a new model based on dairy production, specifically milk, butter, and cheese.
Gascón highlighted Zulueta's role as a moderate republican politician in the early 20th century. His connections within Catalan high society were instrumental in modernizing the agricultural landscape of Puigcerdà and la Seu d'Urgell.
