The town of Puigcerdà celebrated the 29th edition of the Festa del Trinxat this Saturday, bringing together 600 diners at the Club Poliesportiu pavilion to honor the most famous dish of Cerdanya.

This year's celebration featured a deliberate reduction in capacity to ensure better service and safety control. The traditional meal, prepared by the Cuina Pirinenca de Cerdanya collective, centered around the 'Trinxat', a local delicacy made from frost-bitten cabbage and high-quality mountain potatoes.

"The base is a cabbage touched by the frost, a good local potato, making the bacon and seasoning the trinxat with its juice."

The event was attended by several political figures, including Interior Minister Miquel Sàmper and Oriol Junqueras. Mayor Joan Manel Serra described the night as a successful kickoff for planning next year's 30th anniversary, which aims to incorporate more popular activities alongside the formal dinner.
