The Cerdanya capital has hosted a new edition of the “Government Plan in the territory”, an initiative aimed at bringing the executive's management closer to citizens. Coinciding with the XXVIII Puigcerdà Spring Fair, an information point has been set up with details on the general actions of the Government and specific projects with a significant impact on the region.
Among the announced investments are improvements in communication infrastructures, such as the Pyrenean Axis (N-260) in the section between Puigcerdà and La Seu d’Urgell, and the rural road network. Furthermore, the deployment of 109 km of public fiber optics will be accelerated, adding to the 56 km already completed.
The Government has also highlighted the increase in aid transferred to the region's municipalities through the Single Plan for Works and Services of Catalonia (PUOSC), amounting to 9.3 million euros for the 2025-2029 period. Likewise, the Catalan Water Agency has allocated 2.8 million euros for water supply works.
In the housing sector, land is already available for the construction of 251 protected homes. Progress in establishing the new headquarters of the Cerdanya Regional Archive and the future construction of an annex building to the Cerdanya Hospital for the Cross-Border Reception and Rehabilitation Device, focused on improving mental health care, has also been emphasized.
Other strategic projects include the expansion and improvement of justice of the peace with new municipal offices, and an investment of 700,000 euros within the framework of the Shock Plan for the Modernization of Sports Facilities 2025-2029. In social equity, the staff of the Specialized Intervention Service of Alt Pirineu i Aran, which supports women victims of gender violence and their children, has been expanded.
In the cultural sphere, educational centers in Cerdanya have participated in the “Pirineu Lector” project, which promotes Pyrenean literature. Economically, personalized attention to companies and professional guilds is promoted for the recruitment and management of job offers.
The territorial delegate of the Government in Alt Pirineu i Aran and the general secretary of the Presidency visited the information point, contributing to explaining the Government's actions in the region.
