The Medical Emergency System (SEM) treated 58 people with minor symptoms of intoxication following a carbon monoxide leak at the Puigcerdà Sports Club on Sunday afternoon.

The incident alert was received by the Generalitat Firefighters at 5:22 PM on Sunday, when the leak was detected during an ice hockey match. The ground floor and first floor of the sports center were immediately evacuated as a preventive measure, affecting approximately 200 people.
The SEM deployed ten units to the site to examine those affected in an adjacent rink and a second pavilion. Of the 58 confirmed minor injuries, five were transferred to the Cerdanya Hospital, including one minor. The remaining 53 people were discharged on site after being checked.
The Generalitat Firefighters dispatched three teams to inspect the facilities and implement safety measures. Due to the potential severity of the incident, Civil Protection activated the pre-alert phase of the Procicat plan to coordinate the emergency response in Puigcerdà.
