The Puigcerdà City Council suspended classes and school transport this Monday due to heavy snowfall, which left up to 12 centimeters of snow in the Cerdanya region.

The decision to suspend school activities in the Cerdanya capital was made after snow depths exceeded 12 centimeters in both Puigcerdà and Das before 7 AM. The Cerdanya Regional Council (Consell Comarcal de la Cerdanya) confirmed the cancellation of the school transport service, urging maximum caution for mobility.
Regarding the road network, the GI-404 road, which connects Alp and Das, has been closed to traffic. Furthermore, it is mandatory to use snow chains on the N-260 between Planoles (in Ripollès) and Guils de Cerdanya.
Restrictions also affect other key points in the Pyrenean network. Chains are required on the Port del Cantó, which links Alt Urgell and Pallars Sobirà, and the C-28 remains closed due to avalanche risk between Alt Àneu (Pallars Sobirà) and Naut Aran (Val d’Aran). The snowfall has also mandated the use of chains on nearly twenty roads in the Lleida province, mainly on the secondary network.
