After years of absence, the Montblanc-based group 4 Cantons has returned to the stage as part of the Rock & Rolla Festival. The concert, highly anticipated by the local audience, took place on Saturday, May 30th in the afternoon-evening, filling the Pàrking de Sant Miquel with music.
During their performance, 4 Cantons recaptured the essence of their progressive rock, playing both classic tracks from their career such as La Sonata, De Pel·lícula, Viatge Fantàstic, La Senyora, or A tu pare, and new compositions like El Rock del Piolín, Un crit a la vida, and Somnis de Joventut.
With a history dating back to 1981, 4 Cantons is an emblematic rock formation from Montblanc. They began their musical journey in Xarallo and performed across Catalonia until 1997. After a long hiatus, the band reunited with the public in 2022 at the Festival Merlet.
The current lineup features seven musicians and three backing vocalists: Carmen Cabezas, Josep Queraltó, Joan Anton Font, Ignasi Vivas, Manel Font, Xavier Farré, and Ismael Porta, with vocals by Isis Cabezas, Muntsa Porta, and Carla Farré. The group aims to record an album of original songs.
The Rock & Rolla Festival continues throughout the day with a varied program featuring bands like Momentum, Supergatos, La Rockeria, and in the evening, performances by Rock Añejo, Winnie de Punk, Fuego de Mortero, and L.A.Punkarrada.
The band 4 Cantons has further dates scheduled: on June 6th at Mas de la Sabatera in Prenafeta, for the solidarity event “Prenafeta batega per l’ELA”, and on September 8th at the plaça Major de Montblanc, as part of the Festes de la Serra.
