The construction sector in Conca de Barberà continues its downward trend in 2025, marked by a 17% drop in new housing and a significant loss in renovation investment.

Real estate activity in the region has failed to recover its pre-crisis momentum. In 2025, only 14 new homes were registered, a stark contrast to the 532 units recorded during the peak in 2006.
Investment in new builds currently stands at 1.78 million euros, representing a 44% decrease compared to the previous year. Renovation projects have also weakened, with total investment dropping by 80% to just over 221,000 euros.
While Montblanc remains the historical leader in construction activity, Santa Coloma de Queralt saw the most movement in 2025. Other towns like Sarral and l'Espluga de Francolí continue to show signs of a fragile recovery.
