L'Espluga de Francolí celebrated the Feast of the Holy Trinity last weekend, May 30th and 31st, marking the 90th anniversary of the destruction of its former Gothic image.

This year's celebration focused on the milestone of 90 years since the destruction of the valuable 15th-century Gothic image. The festival served as a gathering point for the community, blending liturgical ceremonies with cultural and traditional activities.
Activities commenced on Saturday, May 30th, with a vigil Mass at the old church of Sant Miquel. This was followed by a procession featuring the parish image, which included the display of relics from the ancient image, the presence of local giants Miquel and Trinitat, and an offering to the founders of the Brotherhood. The route traversed emblematic streets of the municipality.
On Sunday, May 31st, the events moved to the hermitage of the Santíssima Trinitat. After the Ordinary General Assembly of the Brotherhood in the morning, a solemn Eucharist was held, which included the celebration of first communions. The festivities continued with a performance by the 'nans' of l'Agricultura, accompanied by the Grallers de l'Espluga, and a communal lunch.
The celebration concluded in the afternoon with the singing of the Goigs to the Santíssima Trinitat in the hermitage chapel, bringing to an end a weekend of religious devotion and social cohesion in L'Espluga de Francolí.
