The L'Espluga de Francolí City Council has initiated a citizen participation process to refine its new application for the Neighborhood and Village Plan, aiming for approval from the Generalitat de Catalunya by mid-year.

The new proposal is framed by the image “Re-viu l’Espluga” and the slogan “For a more vibrant, greener, and more cohesive town,” summarizing the three main intervention axes: physical transformation, ecological transition, and socio-community action. This follows the initial candidacy submitted in 2025.
The original 2025 project included fifteen key actions, such as the reurbanization of the historic center to improve accessibility, the rehabilitation of heritage buildings, and the establishment of a local energy community for energy transition initiatives.

"Having submitted to the first call allowed us to obtain a very useful technical assessment. Now we know which actions were better scored and how we must complement the project."

The participation process includes an open survey for all citizens over 16 years old, available from February 16 to 25. Furthermore, a specific session for seniors will be held at the Retirees' Home on February 11, 2026.
Targeted surveys will also be conducted for youth, channeled through the youth association Auvënguen, and for the educational community via local schools, ensuring the final project is shared and aligned with the needs of L'Espluga de Francolí.
