The Montblanc City Council, the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), and the Medieval Association signed an agreement this March 17 to establish the Colloquia Draconis academic series.

This project aims to integrate academic research into the Saint George Medieval Week. The initiative is part of the European Route of Saint George and the Dragon, which seeks certification from the Council of Europe by demonstrating strong ties with university institutions.
The agreement was signed by Rector Josep Pallarés, Mayor Marc Vinya, and Association President Maties Martí. The Faculty of Tourism and Geography will lead the program, focusing on history, anthropology, and literature to explore the symbolic meaning of the dragon in medieval culture.
The first event is scheduled for April 20 at the Santa Magdalena Chapel. It will feature experts such as Òscar Saladié and Jordi Tresserras. Organizers also announced that the 2027 edition will commemorate the 700th anniversary of the death of King James II.
