Nine injured in collision between bus and four cars in Montblanc

Nine people have been injured, two seriously, in a collision between a bus and four cars on the N-240 in Montblanc, in the Conca de Barberà region.

A serious accident occurred this Saturday morning on the N-240 highway, in the municipality of Montblanc, within the Conca de Barberà region. The collision, involving a bus with passengers and four cars, has resulted in nine injured individuals, two of whom are in serious condition.
The incident took place shortly before 11 AM at kilometer 38.6 of the road. According to the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters), who dispatched seven units to the scene, it was necessary to extricate two people trapped inside one of the involved vehicles.
The Servei Català de Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service) detailed that the collision began with a head-on impact between the bus and one of the cars, with the remaining vehicles subsequently becoming involved. The N-240 highway is currently closed to traffic at the accident site.
Fortunately, the 46 passengers on the bus were unharmed and were able to continue their journey. Of the twelve occupants in the involved vehicles, the two who required extrication and one other person were transported to medical facilities. The two seriously injured individuals, a man and a woman, were admitted to Hospital Joan XXIII in Tarragona, while a man with minor injuries was treated at Hospital Pius de Valls. The remaining six people received assistance at the scene and were discharged.
