The Solivella Town Council completed infrastructure works at the Àngel Guimerà Square torrent this March 2026 to prevent flooding and protect the urban area during heavy rains.

The project focused on stabilizing the riverbed banks using breakwaters and stone reinforcements. The technical process included soil compaction, fiber-reinforced concrete paving, and the addition of new vegetation to the upper sections of the structures in the Conca de Barberà region.

"This action is vital to protect the population during major water surges and to modernize essential infrastructures."

Noemí Llauradó · President of the Tarragona Provincial Council
The Tarragona Provincial Council provided 128,167.42 euros for the project. Mayor Rosa Maria Salvadó hosted the official visit alongside regional authorities to inspect the completed safety improvements.
