The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested three young residents of Balaguer, aged 25, 22, and 21, in Montblanc on February 5, following a high-speed chase on the AP-2 after they evaded a police checkpoint.

The pursuit began when the vehicle, traveling on the highway, evaded a police checkpoint located at the entrance to the AP-2. Officers had to move aside to avoid being run over during the escape maneuver.
The car was located shortly after, parked in a service area on the AP-2 heading towards Barcelona. The occupants were intercepted and claimed they had not stopped because they had not seen the checkpoint and were concerned about a family problem.
During the vehicle search, officers found a fanny pack containing three bars of hashish, weighing a total of 297 grams. This discovery led to the arrest of the three occupants for an alleged crime against public health.
Furthermore, one of the detainees was also arrested for resistance and disobedience to agents of authority. The young men, only one of whom had a prior record, were also reported for driving without a license and administratively sanctioned for drug possession.
