The fire, which occurred on July 26, 2021, ravaged three warehouses in the area, including the municipal brigade's facility. Since then, the workers had been forced to operate in a provisional installation—an old farm lacking adequate conditions—until the reconstruction was completed.
“"When we entered the government on June 17, 2023, the warehouse was the same as the day it burned down. The situation was inhumane, and we had to act to guarantee dignified conditions."
The project was executed in two phases, funded exclusively by municipal resources. The first phase involved an investment of 233,760.42 euros to restore the main structure, while the second, valued at 56,683.17 euros, included the fire protection system and interior fitting out.
The new warehouse, covering an area of 940 square meters, now features changing rooms, a dining area, offices, and specific zones for storing tools and vehicles. Councilman Ardila highlighted that, despite the slow pace of administration, “today, work is being done under human conditions.”
