The infrastructure manager Adif will begin rehabilitation works in the Garraf tunnels in mid-March, forcing single-track operation between Sitges and Garraf for three months.

One month after the Gelida accident, the Catalan rail network faces new challenges. The 3.74 million euro project focuses on repairing the Aiguadolç bridge and the Garraf viaduct, both damaged by sea corrosion. This will significantly impact the R2 Sud and Regional lines.

"We were discussing with the Generalitat the best time to act, but we had already agreed it would be in March."

With no alternative transport plan yet finalized, frequencies between Castelldefels and Sant Vicenç de Calders are expected to drop to one train per hour. User groups are calling for shuttle buses to El Prat de Llobregat to mitigate the expected delays.
