The group La Tradición Cariñosa will perform this Saturday, February 21st, at the Eduard Toldrà Auditorium in Vilanova i la Geltrú to commemorate the cultural bond with Matanzas.

The show, starting at 8:00 PM, is the brainchild of Barbarito Sánchez. This Cuban musician, who has lived in the capital of Garraf for over twenty years, has designed a proposal that merges the musical traditions of both twinned cities.
The repertoire focuses on the evolution of popular Cuban music from the 1940s to the 1980s. During the evening, the audience will enjoy classic genres such as bolero, chachacha, and son montuno, the latter being the authentic root of what was later labeled as salsa.
Tickets for the event are still available through the Escena Vilanova website. The production features percussionist Màrius Milà, who emphasized the significance of preserving the cultural ties between Catalonia and Cuba.
