The Pins Vens 2 sports pavilion has completed the replacement of 250 square meters of parquet flooring, following two weeks of work that concluded with the repainting of the game lines. These works received funding of 70,000 euros from the Consell Català de l’Esport, making the facility available for athletes to prepare for the upcoming season. It is worth noting that Pins Vens 2 also features a new scoreboard this year, completing the scoreboard replacement process initiated with the Pins Vens 1 court.
The Sports Department continues to work on the maintenance and improvement of this infrastructure. Upcoming planned actions include replacing the roof of pavilion 1, with an estimated cost of 245,000 euros, and renovating the court's terrazzo flooring, with a budget of 140,000 euros. Both projects will also be financed by grants from the Consell Català de l’Esport and are scheduled for 2028 to allow for the necessary administrative procedures, including project drafting and tender processes, with works to be carried out in summer to minimize disruption.
The Councilor for Sports, Daniel Martínez Berdala, highlighted the necessity of the parquet change and scoreboard renovation, stating, "We continue to work on improving municipal sports facilities so that citizens can practice sports in optimal conditions."
The Sitges City Council also plans to create a new grass hockey field, with the project anticipated for 2026. Additionally, next summer will see the start of renovation works on the courtyard of the Escola Miquel Utrillo to renaturalize it and cover three basketball courts. The Pins Vens sports area will host a new football field, along with training pitches and improvements to traffic circulation and parking in the area.
