Works on the Garraf tunnels will conclude on Monday, allowing for the restoration of Rodalies service. Meanwhile, works on the R3 line will be extended until the end of the year.

Works on the Garraf tunnels are nearing completion, with the expectation that Rodalies (commuter train) service will be restored soon. The project's reception is scheduled for next Monday, followed by test runs without passengers to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
The Minister of Territori, Sílvia Paneque, stated that the exact resumption date will be announced in advance. This news is highly anticipated by users of the R2 Sud line and Regional trains, who have been relying on bus services for the route between Sant Vicenç de Calders and El Prat de Llobregat.
In contrast, works on the R3 line have been significantly delayed. The reopening of the first phase, initially planned for late May, is now postponed to late 2026, coinciding with the second phase. This delay is attributed to the need to reconstruct a wall adjacent to the Montcada Bifurcació station, which has not yet been repaired by the owning company, Lafarge.
Adif (the railway infrastructure administrator) has acknowledged that it will have to cover the costs of the wall repair, although specific deadlines have not yet been set. Consequently, the R3 service will not be fully resumed until late 2026.
Positive news emerges for the R8 and R15 lines. The R8 service between Rubí and Martorell is set to resume in mid-July, after being covered by buses since the Gelida accident on January 20th. The service between Rubí and Granollers had already been reinstated in late February.
Additionally, Minister Paneque announced that the R15 service, between Móra la Nova and Riba-roja d'Ebre, will resume "very soon," without specifying a precise date.
