The Bears Sitges Week kicks off today with ten days of celebration in Sitges, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Bears Sitges organization, expecting to attract around 8,500 people.

The Bears Sitges Week returns to Sitges from today until September 13th, offering an extensive program of cultural, leisure, and social activities. Over ten days, the event anticipates international participation, solidifying Sitges as a key meeting point for the Bear community.
Organized by Bears Sitges, which is commemorating its quarter-century, the gathering is supported by the Tourism Department of the Sitges City Council. The inaugural event, held yesterday at the Hotel Calipolis, detailed the program and reviewed the organization's trajectory. The Bears Sitges Week has become a well-established fixture on the local calendar, boosting the town's international profile, particularly outside the peak summer season.
The mayor of Sitges, Aurora Carbonell, emphasized the significance of celebrating 25 years of Bears Sitges as a milestone in the town's recent history and its international recognition. She highlighted that the organization has positioned Sitges as a benchmark for the Bear community, promoting values of openness, diversity, and hospitality, while also generating significant economic activity.
The organization estimates that each participant spends an average of €275 per day, and the event attracts approximately 8,500 visitors. This influx has a considerable economic impact on sectors such as accommodation, hospitality, leisure, and local commerce.
The program includes daytime activities, excursions, beach meet-ups, gastronomic offerings, and shopping routes. As a special feature for the 25th anniversary, the Bear-Village will be open on September 4th, 5th, and 6th as a meeting space, without musical performances. From September 7th to 13th, various musical and social activities will take place. The official 25th-anniversary dinner is scheduled for Friday, September 11th, at the Hotel Calipolis.
A significant part of the program, under the initiative "Discover Sitges," aims to promote knowledge of the town's cultural and architectural heritage, including visits to the Sitges Museums. This year, the Joan Tarrida space is included, hosting the exhibition "25''" by Blanca de Nicolás, which can be visited throughout the event.
