Sitges celebrates the massive Extermini Parade

Over 2,000 participants and 38 floats take over the streets of Sitges for the final major night of Carnival.

The coastal town of Sitges hosts the Extermini Parade this Carnival Tuesday, featuring 2,000 participants and 38 floats in one of Catalonia's most famous festive events.

Starting at 9:00 PM from Avinguda Sofia, the parade showcases the creative work of local groups such as El Retiro, Casino Prado, and the Grup dels Independents. The route ends at the iconic Cap de la Vila square.
A security force of 1,000 officers is managing the large crowds expected for the night. The Carnival celebrations will officially conclude tomorrow with the traditional Burial of the Carnival King.
