The Culture Department of Sitges has scheduled six free guided tours to bring the archaeological heritage of Puig de Sitges closer to citizens and visitors.

With the aim of promoting the town's archaeological heritage, the Culture Department of Sitges has organized six guided tours, three in Catalan and three in Spanish, of the old town. Each tour will last two hours and will be free and open to everyone, with no prior registration required.
These tours, led by archaeologist Joan García Targa, offer an immersion into the ancient history of Sitges, focusing on what Puig was like during the Iberian and Roman eras. The initiative, first presented in 2017, has become a consolidated opportunity to disseminate the municipality's historical and archaeological legacy, highlighting the value of heritage as a tool for knowledge and cultural cohesion.
The route will begin at 5 PM in the Town Hall Square and will last approximately two hours. Participants will learn firsthand about the main sites in the old town where archaeological excavations have taken place and will see some of the most significant pieces found over more than three decades of research at Puig de Sitges. These findings are the result of archaeological monitoring of public and private works.
Among the notable elements to be showcased are a fragment of a medieval wall on Carrer Major and display cases with archaeological remains located in the foyer of the Casa de la Vila (Town Hall).
The guided tours in Catalan will take place on September 12th, October 17th, and November 14th. The tours in Spanish will be held on September 26th, October 31st, and November 21st.
