The town of Sitges is on high alert due to strong winds this Wednesday, which have caused significant material damage to public spaces and municipal buildings.

The most visible damage occurred at the Sitges Town Hall facade, where strong gusts tore down parts of the Carnival decorations. Several giant letters fell to the ground and were damaged. The Festivals Department and the Municipal Brigade are already working to repair and reinstall the elements before tomorrow's events.
Beyond the festive decorations, the storm has caused trees, traffic signs, and fences to fall across the municipality. On Sant Honorat street, oranges from fruit trees were scattered across the pavement. Private property incidents were also reported, mainly involving flower pots falling from balconies due to the wind.
Sitges is currently under a yellow weather alert, but forecasts suggest this will be upgraded to orange tonight. While gusts have already exceeded 70 kilometers per hour, experts warn that wind speeds could reach 100 kilometers per hour during the peak of the storm.
