The alert was activated due to a fire that started at 4:18 PM this Saturday in Cubelles, in the Garraf region. The confinement affects the urbanization La Costa Cunit, in the municipality of Cunit (Baix Penedès), and the sectors Trencarroques, la Creu, and Cal Candi in Castellet i la Gornal (Alt Penedès).
Shortly after, the confinement was extended to the urbanizations Mas Trader I and Mas Trader II in Cubelles, as well as Les Estoreres, in the same locality. The Generalitat Firefighters are working with eight aerial units and 25 ground crews, prioritizing the left flank where the affected urbanizations are located.
Civil Protection recommends that the confined population close doors and windows, avoid going outside, and follow the authorities' instructions. The Agents Rurals (Rural Agents) have deployed four patrols to assist in the fire extinction efforts.
