This event, considered one of the oldest and most relevant in Catalonia in the field of roots music, maintains its commitment to free access to all activities. For four days, various iconic spaces in the town will host around twenty musical proposals, parades, and family shows.
The organization has confirmed that the festival will maintain the stage structure consolidated in recent editions. The opening day will be held at plaça de l’Assumpció, while the main activities will move to plaça del Port, which will feature a dining area. In addition, on Saturday, the Castell de la Geltrú will once again be the venue for Firasac.
This year's program places special emphasis on the voice, with a variety of genres ranging from traditional polyphony to minimalist sounds. The lineup includes international artists and Catalan and national groups, with prominent performances ranging from Portuguese fado to Pyrenean roots music.
In addition to the concerts, the festival includes the FIMPTeca, a space dedicated to emerging creators and local proposals. As a novelty, a sound cartography has been implemented that will allow attendees to discover the city through geolocated pieces based on local memories and stories.
