The Municipal Consumer Information Office (OMIC) in Vilanova i la Geltrú is celebrating its 40th anniversary this March 2026, marking four decades of service in the Garraf region.

To commemorate the milestone, Canal Blau Radio has started a series of special segments on the show El Matí. These programs explore the agency's journey since 1986, examining how citizen demands and consumer rights protection have evolved over time.
The first broadcast featured Eva Bolaño, Councilor for Markets and Consumption, alongside Pere Cayuela, who headed Economic Promotion when the office was founded, and consumer inspector Isabel Rodríguez.
The discussions highlighted the OMIC's vital role in mediation and ensuring that local residents' rights are protected in the modern marketplace.
