The Olivella council has given the green light to a series of important approvals during its latest municipal plenary session. Among the most notable decisions is the tender for a new contract for the street cleaning service, which will have a duration of eight years starting from 2027. This measure aims to enhance the cleanliness of the municipality's streets and public spaces.
Furthermore, a modification to the management contract for the El Castellot municipal nursery has been approved. This modification includes the addition of a support assistant for fifteen hours per week to assist new children and a change in the dining system. Starting from 2025, the external catering service will be replaced by an in-house kitchen, with meals prepared on-site.
In terms of mobility and safety, an agreement with the Barcelona Provincial Council has been ratified to invest over €584,000 in improvements to the Mas Milà access. The project includes the creation of new pedestrian crossings, the installation of two new bus stops, the repair of accessible sidewalks, improved public lighting, and updated signage to reduce speed on the BV-2111.
Regarding the fiscal ordinances for 2027, most municipal taxes and fees will remain frozen to avoid increasing the tax burden. A 95% discount on the Construction Tax has been approved for improvements in water management. A credit modification of €100,000 has also been allocated to Public Works to repair damage caused by recent rains.
Finally, the plenary session did not approve a motion from the Municipal Group Tots Som Olivella-CM concerning the Territorial Sector Plan for the Implementation of Renewable Energies (PLATER), which called for greater protection for residential areas and natural environments within the municipality against the installation of high-voltage power lines and solar panels.
