The Vilanova i la Geltrú City Council has launched an intensive shock plan for the cleaning and restoration of facades and monuments affected by vandalistic graffiti.

The plan, announced on February 5, 2026, will initially focus on the most sensitive areas of the old town and listed buildings. This action responds to a growing citizen demand to improve the condition of street furniture and valuable architectural elements, seeking a rapid and effective response.
This measure is part of a series of municipal actions to reinforce surveillance and cleaning. Concurrently, the council has announced that the security device for the upcoming Vilanova Carnival will incorporate a drone to monitor the most crowded events, seeking to prevent both incidents and possible uncivil acts.

The protection of heritage and the improvement of urban coexistence are key priorities for the council at the beginning of this year.

In addition to cleaning graffiti, the local agenda also includes the celebration of the Tres Tombs (Three Turns) on May 3, a traditional event that had to be postponed on January 17 due to weather conditions. This set of announcements highlights municipal activity in areas ranging from security to culture.
