This figure represents 25% of the planned capacity for the event, which is generating significant public interest.
The City Council has organized a program of complementary activities. On August 4th, it will begin with a conference titled ‘The Day the Moon Will Hide the Sun,’ delivered by Salvador Ribas, director of the Montsec Astronomical Park, at the Pavelló de l’Oli. On the 12th, the schedule will include guided tours of the municipality with oil tasting and pairing, live music, catering services, and a nighttime astronomical observation after the eclipse. Certified glasses for safe viewing will be distributed on August 12th to registered attendees.
In Lleida, all 11,500 free tickets to watch the eclipse from the Seu Vella and Els Mangraners have been completely sold out. The Seu Vella sold its 1,500 spots in just a few hours, while Els Mangraners filled its 10,000 available places.
The newspaper LA MAÑANA will also give away 1,500 certified glasses to its readers, which can be collected at the editorial office on August 10th, 11th, and 12th. Additionally, municipalities in the Baix Segre area, such as Massalcoreig and La Granja d’Escarp, will organize observation activities, including a popular festival in Massalcoreig.
Hotel reservations in Lleida for the night of the eclipse are nearing full occupancy, reflecting the anticipation surrounding this historic astronomical phenomenon.
