A forest and agricultural fire in the Les Garrigues region has necessitated the precautionary evacuation of eight residents and mobilized nearly 40 crews from the Bombers de la Generalitat, including aerial resources.

The fire, which broke out on Sunday afternoon, is advancing with the help of a southerly wind. Extinguishing teams are working intensely to contain the right flank and protect buildings on the left flank, thereby preventing the flames from reaching inhabited areas.
As a result of the fire, the roads LP-7073 between L'Albi and Cervià de les Garrigues, and LV-7031 between Cervià and Les Borges Blanques have been closed to traffic.
This incident follows shortly after firefighters brought another fire under control in Sanaüja, in the Segarra region. Furthermore, the Agents Rurals have warned of a very high fire risk in about thirty municipalities in central and western Catalunya, activating level 3 of the Pla Alfa in several counties.
