The Olot City Council launched a participatory process this February to draft a new City Equality Plan, aiming to collect 3,000 survey responses from the local community.

Working with the Consorci d'Acció Social de la Garrotxa, the project intends to update the current plan from 2008. The new strategy will focus on intersectionality to ensure Olot remains free from gender-based discrimination.

"Participation is key so that the future plan incorporates what citizens experience and perceive, translating into concrete measures."

Susanna Pagès · Councilor for Equality, Participation, and Civil Rights
Residents over 16 can participate online or at physical support points located at Sant Esteve and the Mercat square on specific dates in February and March. The final document is expected to be approved by 2026.
