A tree has fallen onto a shelter in Batet de la Serra, a district of Olot, causing 13 injuries among members of a scout group on an excursion.

The incident occurred when the tree fell onto the roof of the shelter, where a scout group had stopped for lunch. As a result of the fall, thirteen people were injured and required medical attention.
One of the injured, a monitor, is in serious condition due to a fracture and trauma. She has been transferred to the Trueta Hospital in Girona for specialized treatment.
The remaining injured, including a minor in less serious condition with a fracture and eleven others (eight minors and three adults) in mild condition, have been taken to the Olot Hospital. Additionally, nine other individuals were treated at the scene without needing hospital transfer.
The group consisted of six monitors and sixteen minors aged between 9 and 11. The alert for the tree fall was received around 3 PM. Several units of the Firefighters, SEM ambulances, a medicalized helicopter, and a team of psychologists were dispatched to the location.
Those unharmed were taken to the Santa Pau civic center, where they are receiving psychological support while awaiting their families. Initial investigations suggest that wind may have caused the tree to fall. Civil Protection activated the Procicat plan for one hour as a precautionary measure.
