The municipality of Sant Jaume de Llierca now has a pharmacy service, a new offering that represents a significant improvement in the quality of life for its residents. Its opening, on October 28, brings pharmaceutical care closer to the community and avoids the need to travel to other towns for this essential service.
The pharmacy is located on the ground floor of the Town Hall building, at Àngela Brutau Street, 1, with access through the exhibition gallery. This central location makes it convenient for residents to use the service. The service is managed by the pharmacy of Montagut i Oix, headed by pharmacist Esther Albrich Plana.
The service provides pharmaceutical care on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. These hours offer 10 weekly hours of pharmaceutical attention, spread across mornings and afternoons. This new provision is particularly important for the elderly, individuals with reduced mobility, and residents who find it difficult to travel outside the municipality.
“"Improving a town isn't just about building or renovating streets, but also about providing services that make people's daily lives easier. And this pharmacy is a very clear example of that."
The mayor of Sant Jaume de Llierca, Jordi Cargol, has positively assessed the pharmacy's opening, highlighting it as a significant step in the municipal commitment to improving citizen services and ensuring proximity services in small towns. Cargol also expressed sincere gratitude to Esther Albrich Plana, from the Montagut i Oix pharmacy, for her involvement and willingness to make this pharmacy a reality.
The opening of the pharmacy aligns with the Town Hall's aim to continuously expand and enhance local services, focusing on the daily needs of the population. The council emphasizes that this new pharmaceutical care point contributes to making Sant Jaume de Llierca a more accessible municipality with greater opportunities for its inhabitants.
