The municipality of Sant Joan les Fonts is preparing for a very special edition of its Witchcraft Fair, celebrating its 20th anniversary. On October 3rd and 4th, the town will transform with a wide range of activities focused on magic and esotericism. Offerings include conferences, workshops, shows, dance, music, and family activities, taking place at the Clot de l’Infern (Coromines Park) and Juvinyà Castle. The traditional market, featuring witchcraft-related products and unique items, will also be present.
This year, the fair not only presents a guest culture but also delves into the two-decade trajectory of this landmark event. As it did 20 years ago, the inauguration will be led by Professor Sebastià d’Arbó, a recognized figure in the field in Catalonia. During the opening ceremony, a surprise element will be unveiled, intended to make the Clot de l’Infern a permanently witchcraft-themed space. In the evening, the anniversary will be celebrated with a special cake.
The program also includes established features of the Witchcraft Fair, such as the Dance of the Giants of the Four Elements and the Dance of the Witches of Sant Joan les Fonts, magic performances, and broom-throwing contests, alongside activities related to Catalan legends. On Sunday, the fair will continue with workshops, conferences, demonstrations, dance, and family activities, including proposals on runes, magic, distillation, and popular traditions.
