A fairground operator from Girona has reported the theft of his 43-ton ride, known as La rana loca, which vanished from a lot in Sant Gregori between February 11 and 12.

The owner, José Dos Anjos Rodríguez, stated that the ride was folded and parked awaiting the start of the season in May. Security footage shows a Renault vehicle towing the massive structure away from the site.

"It is circulating without brakes or pneumatic circulation, and that can cause an accident. If they have to brake, the attraction will overrun them."

Rodríguez believes the perpetrator might be someone within the fairground industry. He fears the saltamontes ride could be sold for parts or modified for use abroad, as his personal customizations would make it easy to identify within Spain.
