Argentine forward Claudio Echeverri delivered his best performance for Girona FC this March at Montilivi, scoring his first goal in Europe during a 3-0 win over Athletic Club.

The player nicknamed Diablito, on loan from Manchester City via Bayer Leverkusen, was instrumental in the home victory. Echeverri scored the final goal and assisted Ounahi for the second. Before this match, the young talent had only played 230 minutes across eight games since joining in the winter transfer window.

"I really wanted to score my first goal for Girona. Hopefully, this is the start of something great because I hadn't played regularly for almost a year."

Manager Míchel Sánchez praised the Argentine's potential, describing his goal as world-class. The coach emphasized that Echeverri needs to play with freedom and enjoy his 'street football' style. With this strike, Girona FC now counts twelve different goalscorers in La Liga this season.
