The Coordinadora d'Associacions per la Llengua Catalana (CAL) has announced the Correllengua 2026, a cultural campaign that will celebrate its 30th anniversary by linking Prada and Alghero between April 19 and May 5.

This year's campaign is dedicated to the late writer and journalist Josep Maria Espinàs. A symbolic flame will be carried by hand, foot, or bicycle through Girona, Barcelona, and Valencia, eventually reaching the city of Alghero in Sardinia for the first time.

"Each municipality will decide how to organize the events when the flame arrives, with manifesto readings and cultural activities."

Anna Roselló · Spokesperson for Correllengua Agermanat
The 2026 manifesto has been written by journalist Antoni Bassas. Since 1996, the Correllengua has remained a key festive initiative to promote the social use of the Catalan language and strengthen cultural ties across the region.
