The incident occurred around half past three in the afternoon on June 5th on Isaac Albéniz street in Fornells de la Selva. A patrol from the Salt police station received an alert about a possible theft from a parked car. Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals with suspicious behavior in the vicinity.
An off-duty police officer witnessed one of the youths exiting the high-end vehicle, which had its driver's door lock forced, while the other acted as a lookout. Officers identified the two men and, during a search, found a multi-tool knife on one of them and a screwdriver under another nearby vehicle.
The arrested individuals, who have previous police records for similar offenses, were taken to the Salt police station. They were subsequently brought before the Girona court of inquiry, where they were released on bail with charges for theft with force inside a vehicle.
This police action is part of the ongoing concern among residents in Fornells de la Selva regarding similar thefts from cars parked on the street, incidents that have recurred in recent days in various areas of the town.
