The incident occurred around 7:45 AM, near kilometer 59.1 of the highway. Two passenger cars and a heavy goods vehicle were involved in the crash.

Firefighters, the Emergency Medical Service (SEM), and the Traffic Mossos d'Esquadra responded to the scene. One of the traffic lanes was closed to facilitate emergency operations and care for those affected.

As a result of the collision, two women sustained minor injuries. One of the individuals involved had to be extricated by the firefighters. Both injured women were transported by the SEM to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona via three ambulances.
