Bàsquet Girona missed their chance for a victory against Baskonia at Fontajau on Sunday, collapsing in the decisive final quarter where shooting accuracy abandoned Moncho Fernández's squad.

The Girona team showed resilience, recovering from a disastrous start and staying competitive for many minutes, but the superior quality of the visiting team prevailed. Their energy failed at the most critical moment: the last quarter, which ended 19-29 in favor of Baskonia.

Their strength failed at the most inopportune moment; a final quarter in which accuracy abandoned Moncho Fernández's team (19-29).

Several factors contributed to this setback. These include a poor percentage in outside shooting, particularly the three-pointers attempted by Kurucs and Frisch. Crucial rebounding mistakes and conceding over 90 points once again were also decisive factors.
Despite the loss, Livingston emerged as the top scorer for the home team with 16 points, although it took him some time to find his rhythm. This defeat marks the second consecutive stumble that Bàsquet Girona has suffered while playing at their home arena, Fontajau.
