The operation, valued at 115,000 euros, was fully funded through a grant from the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition. This purchase concludes a period of collaboration that began in 2011, when a stewardship agreement was signed, allowing technical conservation criteria to be applied to the area.
The estate stands out for its high concentration of flora species, some of which are exclusive to this location within the Gavarres massif. For this reason, the management body considers this 70-hectare land a strategic element for maintaining the ecological balance of the environment.
From now on, the Gavarres Consortium will coordinate future management actions with the Llagostera City Council. The goal is to improve the conservation status of habitats of community interest and ensure that the space remains a benchmark for the protection of natural heritage for the future.
