The automotive market in the Girona region has reached 31,490 units sold between January and July, representing a 4.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

The sector's main momentum comes from new vehicle sales, which have recorded a 15.4% increase with 8,958 registrations. This growth rate exceeds the figures observed in both Catalonia and the rest of the State.
Conversely, the second-hand market, while still accounting for the bulk of operations with 22,532 units, shows greater stability with a slight 0.7% rise. The current ratio indicates that for every new vehicle registered, approximately 2.5 used ones are sold.
Regarding engine types, the shift in trends is consolidating: electric, hybrid, and other alternative technology vehicles now account for 75% of new registrations. Meanwhile, gasoline engines have dropped to 22% and diesel has fallen below 3% of the total market.
