Girona-Costa Brava Airport closed January 2026 with 35,462 passengers, representing an 8.2% decrease compared to the same period last year, according to Aena.

The decline was also reflected in flight operations at the Vilobí d'Onyar terminal, with 1,292 take-offs and landings, a 3.9% drop. This performance contrasts with Barcelona Airport, which reached a historic record of 2.8 million passengers in January.
The airport remains highly dependent on Ryanair, which accounted for 96% of all passengers. Top destinations included Pisa, Brussels, and Bucharest, while German and British tourists led the rankings by nationality.
