The Temps de Flors festival, one of the most anticipated events in the Girona regions, begins this weekend and will run until May 17. The exhibition will feature 141 floral projects spread across 113 spaces in the city, including the Sant Feliu bridge, the Sant Feliu gardens, and the Archaeological promenade fountain. The Cathedral steps, which this year are inspired by the Gaudí Year, will be one of the highlights. Additionally, the festival will pay tribute to Pau Casals on the 150th anniversary of his birth.
The musical program of Girona A Capella will complement the floral offerings with performances by groups such as Música Nua, Coral Singlot with the Quartet Mèlt, and Heaven On Earth Gospel Choir. Additional activities such as a 'castellera' day (human towers) and a varied gastronomic offer have also been organized for visitors.
Outside the capital, Sant Feliu de Guíxols celebrates the 73rd edition of Guíxols Flors on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, with a floral competition and exhibition in spaces of the Monastery. In Banyoles, the FemJazz! festival continues until May 10, with a program that includes local big bands and avant-garde proposals such as the Lavish Joy show, featuring the artistic duo of Robyn Schulkowsky and Joey Baron, and guitarist Ôtomo Yoshihide.
The musical agenda also includes the presentation of the sixth work by the Bisbalenc group Fetus, Romancer tartera, at the Sala de Cambra of the Auditori de Girona on Saturday, May 9. For heavy metal enthusiasts, the Las Vegas venue in Sant Feliu de Guíxols will host the second night dedicated to the genre in Catalan, with performances by Vrademarg, Assot, and Rancúnia.
In L'Escala, the Triumvirat Mediterrani celebrates its 30th edition from May 8 to 10, with a retrospective exhibition at the Alfolí de la Sal and an International Symposium on the Route of the Phocaeans. Finally, the La Planeta venue in Girona presents the theatrical show Tribut a les rates by Las Espectadoras, directed by Aina Minguell and Aitana López, with showings on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10.
