The Girona B reserve team drew 1-1 against the strong Reus Reddis side in Vidreres on Sunday, conceding a goal by Recasens in the 94th minute, despite taking the lead through a spectacular strike by Javi González.

The match played in Vidreres required Girona B to perform at their best against one of the strongest rivals in the category and an aspirant for promotion. The reserve team managed to remain solid, resisting the constant attacks from the visiting forward Vaz, who was the most active player for Reus.
The red-and-black team took the initiative in the match, and Vaz was close to scoring on two occasions, hitting the woodwork. First, with a low cross that struck the crossbar, and later in the second half, with a volley connected after getting behind the Girona defense. The local goalkeeper, Sergi Puig, also had to intervene with a notable save.
When the game was tied, the young winger Javi González, recently signed from Corutxo in Galicia, surprised everyone with a spectacular parabola shot from midfield that ended up in the back of the net. This goal, marking the player's debut, put Girona B ahead and suggested a victory was imminent.

A cruel draw for Girona B, especially painful given the circumstances and with victory within reach.

With the victory practically secured and many celebrating the three points, Reus did not give up. In the final moments, in the 94th minute, they earned a corner kick which Recasens successfully headed in, forcing the 1-1 draw and leaving a bitter taste for the Girona side. This point, however, demonstrates the competitive capacity of the young squad in the Segunda Federación.
