The Girona Campings Association and the Altem Foundation have signed an agreement to foster socio-labor inclusion for people with disabilities or in vulnerable situations within the region's tourism sector.

This new phase of collaboration represents a shift in focus, moving beyond one-off financial contributions. The main objective is to generate a real and sustainable social impact in the territory, creating direct job opportunities at campsites and contracting services from the foundation's special employment center.
The Altem Foundation's employment center offers services to companies in areas such as gardening, cleaning, laundry, and catering. Simultaneously, it facilitates the labor integration of individuals facing difficulties in accessing the job market, directly connecting the tourism sector with social projects that benefit the community.

"The need to consolidate alliances that combine economic activity and social commitment is fundamental for the development of the territory."

The initiative was formalized after an institutional visit to the Les Acàcies residence, located in Far d'Empordà. The Altem Foundation is a leading entity in Alt Empordà, specializing in supporting people with intellectual disabilities or mental health disorders, currently assisting over 300 individuals with care and employment integration services.
This agreement comes at a time of significant growth for the camping sector, which has recorded nearly ten million overnight stays in the last year and shows a trend towards longer stays. This evolution reinforces a tourism model with a growing positive impact on the territory, especially in Alt Empordà, where a significant portion of camping pitches are concentrated.
